We had a fabulous rest day in Rapid City today. For reference the first B21 base is Ellsworth AFB 10 miles from here.
Today I was able to arrange a trip with the Black Hills tour group to see Mount Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, and Crazy Horse. Seven of us took the tour and really enjoyed the history and views of these incredible monuments. Mount Rushmore has been on my list of places to go for many years and was finally able to experience it! We also saw some Longhorn cattle and a baby buffalo of all things.
It was also really awesome to ride around in an air-conditioned bus and not be peddling and bicycle down the highway. The rest day was badly needed by all.
Cheers

Hey, this is a great trip for us bystanders who donβt have to do any of the work and get to experience a guided experience with pictures and video! Keep strong on your days ahead and look forward to seeing and hearing about them.

Great shots. Of course you would come close to the B21!! A mind boggling juxtaposition w/ Mr. Rushmore.

Glad you enjoyed that fabulous rest day! Back in the saddle today! Enjoy and stay safe as you near the halfway mark!

So cool you got to see Mt Rushmore. When I was a kid I thought that was a natural formation. That erosion had done that. Yeah. Not a genius. Hope you continue to have an amazing ride!ππ

Excellent pics. πΈ So glad you're enjoying a much deserved day of rest. Almost halfway!ππ Just wondering which was more incredible: viewing the sights or not sitting on a bike seat & peddling?ππ€
