Today’s ride felt like the toughest one to date on this trip. It was 113 miles of essentially the same straight piece of highway with lots rolling hills. At mile 30 we crossed into Central time!

About 40 miles in we had a herd of 8 Antelope run from our far left, crossed the highway 100 yards ahead of us and disappeared over the hill to our right - spectacular!

During the last third of the ride we had a pretty stiff headwind. The onset of heat was delayed by high clouds, fortunately. It was one of those days where by mile 80 you really wanted to get off the bike. Several in the group actually did and rode the van to Oacoma from mile 75. Pace-lines were the norm for the day and we had 11 of us one point teamed up against the wind.(good video above of what it’s like out there)💪

Cheers

Lisa

Would’ve loved to seen the antelope!!Ive been meaning to ask, Doug, how many are in your group ? By the way you still look and sound so strong and happy. This is such a self challenge to the nth degree yet oh man, what a once in a lifetime experience! Keep on keepin on, Lil’ Bro ❤️

Mitch

Quite an arrangement of fire trucks. Not sure how they managed that feat. You pushed through that ride! No van for you!

Sandi

Oh my gosh! That is tough riding. Good for you for making it though. Do you talk while riding or sing? 😂 or listen to music or podcasts?

Jane

Oye, head wind! A biker’s enemy! Good job sticking with it for that length of time. Great to see you are enjoying the whole adventure and am sure making life long friends. 🚴‍♂️
